11 Rue Gay Lussac is a fully furnished and self contained three-storey home, ideal for holiday accommodation and the perfect way to experience French village life. Comfortably catering for 2-6 people, the house is nestled in the cobbled streets of the Marseillan Centre Ville, only metres from the town square and local port.
About the House
Estimated to be around 300 years old, the three-storey house includes two double bedrooms each with an ensuite, an additional twin/double bedroom, spacious lounge, dining area, kitchen and laundry with modern appliances, linen, bedding and plenty of storage. A private outdoor courtyard is the perfect area to enjoy alfresco living, complete with barbecue and flexible outdoor seating.
Access from the street is direct to the ground floor open plan kitchen and dining area, flowing out onto a fully tiled private outdoor courtyard. The courtyard accesses a bathroom, laundry with washing machine and dryer, plus a storage area, containing bikes and beach gear for tenants’ use.
The first floor contains the main living room, a large double bedroom with ensuite (toilet, handbasin and shower) and an adjoining twin bedroom overlooking the courtyard. The sunny living room, which overlooks the street, has a large corner sofa unit which converts into an extra double bed if needed.
The top floor attic level contains another large double bedroom with full ensuite. Well set up for couples, this configuration is also ideal for families who have additional guests to stay. Recommended for 2-6 people, the house can sleep up to eight by utilising the sofa bed.

Kitchen & Dining Room
Modern kitchen with electric oven, gas hobs and extractor fan, microwave, electric jug, toaster, large fridge/freezer, ironing board and iron plus full complement of crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, glassware and cleaning materials. Dining table with six chairs, two casual chairs and two large shelving and cupboard units. Opens onto a private alfresco internal courtyard with a barbeque and full outdoor seating.
Hi-speed WIFI router in main room and lockbox with extra sets of keys by front door.
First Floor Living Room
Accessed via a winding staircase, the first floor living room is large and sunny, with wooden shutters opening over the street. There is a large corner sofa unit which can convert into a full double bed. Armchairs with footrests, coffee table, linen chest and a well-stocked bookcase.
WIFI repeater on this level. Bluetooth speaker or portable stereo with plugs to connect your own devices. Extra fans and heaters if required. Please note, there is no television.
Master Bedroom & Twin Room
The master bedroom is located on the first floor, with a shuttered window opening onto the courtyard below. It is a very large room, with a king size double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers plus tiled ensuite bathroom with shower and WC. Hairdryer and towel racks supplied in the ensuite.
A smaller twin room adjoins the master bedroom, including two single beds (can be made into double) with bedside tables and a chest of drawers. Ideal for children, as access to master bedroom and ensuite is through this room.
Attic Double Bedroom
The attic bedroom is on the top level, accessed by a narrow winding staircase. It is a large character space under an exposed tile and beam ceiling. It contains a king size bed (can be separated into two singles), with bedside units, chest of drawers, portable clothes hanger and extra storage spaces. This room also features a large, fully tiled ensuite bathroom with hand basin, shower and WC.
A full height shuttered window opens over the street with a blackout curtain for summer nights. This room can be hot midsummer, so there are fans available to keep the room cool.
Linen & Laundry
All linen is provided, including single and double bed sheets, duvets and extra blankets. There are plenty of bath towels, beach towels and tea towels etc. An iron and ironing board are located in the kitchen cupboard.
Guests are requested to launder their own linen before departure using the washing machine and dryer provided, however a laundry service can be arranged on request. Spare towels and portable drying racks are located in the laundry.
Ground Floor Courtyard, Bathroom & Storage
The ground floor kitchen and dining area opens out into a large private outdoor courtyard with an electric barbeque and full outdoor seating. The courtyard leads into a covered remise area, including a fully tiled bathroom with a large overhead shower, and a laundry with washing machine and dryer, spare towels and a portable drying rack.
This covered remise also contains ample storage space. Two mountain bikes are available for guest use, with helmets, pump, locks and basic tools. Various ball games, petanque boules, boogie boards, beach chairs, towels and umbrellas are also available.
